      On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World held its grand opening, with four theme parks, two water parks, twenty seven resort-themed hotels, and a total of ten thousand visitors on its opening day. Today, the annual attendance at Disney World is over 52 million. Coming from humble roots, Disney World went from a new and upcoming theme parks to arguably the best in the world. With special events and parades daily, Disney World attracts visitors from all demographics all over the globe. There are also holiday-themed events around Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. At Disney World, there are an abundance of different attractions, such as smaller rides for small children such as the Mad Hatter's Teacups, and exciting rides such as Aerosmith's Rock'n Rollercoaster and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror for thrill-seeking park visitors. At the park, you can meet your favorite characters, eat delicious foods from all over the world, and watch entertaining shows. All of these things in combination are what makes Disney World the Happiest Place on Earth!
